Sentinel’s award winning water treatment products continue to ensure that the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge’s heating system retains its optimum operational performance. Sentinel revisits the hard work that Darren Stratton from Global Mechanical & Plumbing Projects has undertaken to improve the hotel’s heating and hot water system.

Earlier this year Darren Stratton visited the Safari Lodge which is based on the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, Africa, to assess and provide advice on how the hotel could overcome extensive corrosion issues related to its heating and hot water system. Since that trip Darren has returned to Tanzania to supervise the work that was needed and to train the local support team in the use and maintenance of the heating system at the hotel.

Darren comments “You might not immediately think of a hotel in Africa needing a heating system but it gets very chilly up on the rim of the crater at night so it’s an essential part of the comfort offered by a leading hotel in this part of the world. It was clear to me from my first visit that the heating system was suffering from extensive corrosion damage. Sentinel seemed the obvious solution. 

 
Going back a second time to supervise the work was a real pleasure. We needed to clean the system with X400 System Restorer and then inhibit with Sentinel X100 to protect it from corrosion in the future. With the help of Sentinel, we shipped out what we needed to undertake the work and when we heard it had arrived, we flew down to Tanzania to get on with the job” concludes Darren.
